Assistant Principal (Learning and Teaching)

St Clare’s is currently seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Principal – Learning and Teaching to join our inclusive and dynamic team.

The Assistant Principal – Learning and Teaching supports the Principal in the leadership of St Clare’s College as a member of the College Leadership Team. The College Leadership Team is inspired at all times by the ethos of St Clare’s and focusses on leading and developing the Catholic character of the school in the Franciscan tradition. Working in partnership with the College Leadership Team, the Assistant Principal – Learning and Teaching has primary responsibility for the leadership, development and administration of excellence in in Learning and Teaching across the College, supporting overall student academic wellbeing.

Please note that this position is for an initial two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) may be offered based on performance outcomes. This position will be underpinned by a permanent (ongoing) teaching position within Catholic Education.

The position will be required to work collaboratively with their Faculty members to develop and implement high quality and engaging teaching programs which account for the needs of the students in their classes. Additionally, the successful persons will have the ability to ensure that their focus on student learning is continuous, compliant with current curriculum requirements and relative to the needs of students.

This position is temporary in nature because the substantive occupant (the incumbent) is taking parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return earlier to their substantive position in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.
