Tidings 14 - 16 December 2019
On Thursday 5 December at our Year 12 Graduation Mass and Awards Ceremony I spoke about the concept of ubuntu.
The word ubuntu is part of the Zulu phrase “Ubuntu ngumuntu ngabantu”, which literally means that a person is a person through other people. Ubuntu has its roots in humanist African philosophy, where the idea of community is one of the building blocks of society. Ubuntu is that nebulous concept of common humanity or oneness: meaning you and me both.
