Dr Ann Cleary
Principal
Ann is an educational leader committed to ensuring young women have the opportunity to experience excellence in education across a broad range of curriculum offerings. She is an advocate for Catholic Education in the ACT, having joined the system almost 20 years ago, following a successful career as a research scientist. Ann uses her background in scientific research to inspire students’ interest in the Sciences and the breadth of further education, and her analytical approach informs school decision making. She is passionate about the importance of student engagement through the development of contextual learning programs, development of students’ understanding of growth mindset and active pastoral care of students. Ann strives to enable all students to experience academic success in an inclusive, faith-filled learning community.
Phil Coe
Assistant Principal Learning and Teaching
Since entering the field of education, Phil has held the positions of Classroom Teacher, Head of Department, Head of Senior School & Deputy Principal. Before transitioning to education, he worked as a computer programmer and business analyst and holds qualifications in Information Technology, Business Administration, and Religious Education.
Phil is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centred environment where challenge and support go hand in hand. He believes engaging students in diverse experiences and skill development cultivates confident, resilient, and lifelong learners prepared to thrive in the world. Phil looks forward to collaborating with staff, parents, and students to further enhance academic excellence and overall student wellbeing.
Mark Chifley
Assistant Principal Mission and Culture
Mark has been an educator for 28 years, dedicated to helping every student strive for their personal best. Throughout his career, he has held various roles, including classroom teacher, coordinator, Assistant Principal, and Acting Principal. He has taught across the ACT and NSW, working with students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
As Assistant Principal, Mark leads the Mission and Culture portfolios, ensuring the St Clare’s community upholds its values while actively engaging with the broader society. In his Mission role, he fosters a sense of belonging and purpose, encouraging students to make the most of their opportunities. In his Culture role, he supports teachers in delivering high-quality education and promotes the arts, music, drama, and cultural experiences, recognizing their role in student engagement and personal growth. Through his work, Mark helps create a learning environment that nurtures creativity, inclusivity, and a strong sense of community.
Juliette Major
Assistant Principal Staff Support and Development
Juliette has been an educator in the Archdiocese for three decades, including over ten years at St Clare’s College. She holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education (ICT), along with certifications in Vocational Education and Training, Information Technology, and Creative Industries. With experience teaching from Kindergarten to Year 12, she is passionate about fostering opportunities for women in STEM and supporting students in exploring diverse career pathways. Juliette’s contributions to the ICT industry have been recognized with the Australian Computer Society’s Leoni Warne Medal for promoting women in technology.
As Assistant Principal, Juliette leads the Staff Support and Development portfolio. She is committed to fostering a positive and dynamic workplace environment, ensuring that staff have access to professional development and positive and dynamic workplace environment, ensuring that staff have access to professional development and opportunities to enhance their teaching practice. Through her dedication to lifelong learning, she supports both staff.
Vikram Bhatia
Business Manager
Vikram is a finance professional with almost 20 years of experience across the public, private, and tertiary education sectors. He holds tertiary qualifications in accounting and business management and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). With expertise in management accounting and business strategy development, he brings a strong financial and operational focus to his role.
As the College’s Business Manager, Vikram oversees daily operations, including finance, maintenance and building works, IT services, and the management of support staff. In addition to his financial and administrative responsibilities, he is passionate about sustainability and actively implements initiatives to reduce the school’s carbon footprint.
