Scholarships

St Clare’s College has been offering excellence in girls’ education since 1965. The College is committed to providing a holistic education for young women; we cater for the learning needs of a wide range of students and encourage them to be active and visible learners.

The St Clare’s College Scholarship program offers financial support to students as they continue to build on their strengths and take advantage of the many academic, leadership and development opportunities that the College has to offer.

All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal.  

Applications are invited from current and prospective students for the following scholarships. Supporting documentation must be received by the College by close of business 10 May in the year prior to the scholarship year that you are applying for. Applications are to be sent to the.principal@stcc.act.edu.au

Senior Scholarships (Years 11 and 12)

The successful applicants must:

  • Commit to being enrolled in Years 11 and 12 at the College
  • Be motivated and focused on their studies and their future
    Demonstrate a high level of academic excellence or growth in their academic results
  • Uphold the values of the College
  • Be an active participant in College events
  • Have an excellent attendance record
  • Have an excellent record of behaviour and support the College’s Positive Behaviour (Personal Best) policy. Failure to meet the College’s standard of behaviour may jeopardise the recipient’s scholarship.
  • Demonstrate leadership and support other students.

Junior Scholarships (Year 7 only)

The successful applicant must:

  • Achieve high academic results and/or progress, be motivated and focused on their future
  • Uphold the values of the College
  • Be an active participant in College events
  • Have an excellent attendance record
  • Have an excellent record of behaviour and support the College’s Positive Behaviour (Personal Best) policy. Failure to meet the College’s standard of behaviour may jeopardise the recipient’s scholarship.
  • Demonstrate a leadership and support other students.

How to apply

Complete the application form and portfolio and email them to the.principal@stcc.act.edu.au by close of business 10 May in the year prior to the scholarship year you are applying for. The student’s personal statement is a critical element considered for the awarding of scholarships and should be well considered.

Provide the College with a portfolio of achievements including:

  1. Copies of school reports from the last two years
  1. NAPLAN results including other external testing; competitions etc

Personal Statement (500-800 words) detailing:

    1. Background and experience within strength area/s
    1. Evidence of contribution to current school programs including any co-curricular activities
      1. Involvement in broader community activities
      1. Involvement in broader community activities
      1. Summary of how you will make a contribution to the College
      1. Referee comments or evidence to support claims
